Sarah Eveleigh
Sarah Eveleigh is a Partner with Anderson Lloyd. She specialises in resource management and has particular expertise in water management, agribusiness and urban development. She advises clients on a broad range of matters including consenting, compliance, planning processes and due diligence. Sarah has acted for various entities and individual farmers on regional plan changes relating to water management, rural land use and nutrient management, and on consenting of water storage and irrigation schemes. She has also successfully obtained commercial, residential and rural-residential land rezoning for a number of land developers in Canterbury.
Ranui Calman
Ranui Calman is a partner at Greenwood Roche and is based in the Christchurch office. She specialises in commercial, commercial property and property and asset financing transactions. Ranui has particular forestry expertise. She has been the lead external lawyer on the One Billion Trees joint venture forestry right programme for Crown Forestry. Ranui also has experience with special forestry and modified forestry test overseas investment applications. She regularly drafts forestry rights and provides forestry and contract advice to government, iwi and other commercial clients. She acts on forestry acquisitions and more recently has become involved with carbon forestry and permanent forestry both in New Zealand and overseas.
Monique Thomas
Monique specialises in resource management law, advising on a broad range of issues within that field. She also manages project teams across a range of scientific and technical disciplines towards successful outcomes.
Monique advises government and private clients on resource management issues throughout New Zealand. She has particular expertise in consenting challenging projects across a range of sectors including hydro, dairy, quarrying and mining, and large industry. She also advises on site contamination issues, environmental warranties and indemnities, and environmental due diligence in property and corporate transactions. Before joining Greenwood Roche, Monique was seconded as a Project Manager (Consenting) to a major New Zealand resources company.
Dene Gavin
Dene specialises in commercial and property law with a particular focus on rural law. regularly advises clients in relation to business purchases, shareholders’ agreements, obtaining leasing matters, banking and finance, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, restructuring, collaborative agreements and joint ventures. He has experience in a broad range of commercial law matters and has advised clients from a range of industries including construction, tourism, rural, forestry, aquaculture and property. He is on the board of the Top of the South Community Foundation, and a volunteer for Nelson Coastguard.
Catherine Reid
Catherine is a specialist in New Zealand’s foreign investment regime, including the Overseas Investment Act 2005 and the Overseas Investment Office (OIO) consent process. Catherine developed her expertise at the OIO where she held senior roles. In 2015 Catherine returned to private practice and is now assisting investors in obtaining OIO approvals. Prior to joining the OIO in 2011, Catherine was a senior solicitor at a national commercial law firm.
