Carolyn Hintz
Carolyn has been helping clients achieve their commercial property goals since 2003. She's worked on sales and purchases, mergers and acquisitions, commercial leasing, development and subdivisions. Whether you're a large institutional investor acquiring an interest in an established portfolio, or you're a family sitting on a large section wondering if you can subdivide - Carolyn can help you. Carolyn is a member of the Property Law Section of the NZ Law Society. She sits on the Section's Land Titles Committee which provides Land Information New Zealand with a lawyers' view of how LINZ is impacting the profession and you, as our clients.
David Gilbert
David Gilbert is a highly regarded commercial property lawyer who has advised on some of New Zealand's largest property transactions and developments. With over 20 years experience advising on property acquisitions, property developments and leasing. David has particular expertise in putting together complex acquisition agreements, project contracts, commercial subdivisions, including office, retail and industrial properties, shopping centres and industrial parks. David has extensive public and private sector experience in due diligences, and the acquisition and disposal of land, retail premises and office complexes. He also has experience advising clients, including the Crown, in the health, military and energy sectors. David represents major asset managers in their property portfolio requirements from acquisition, including Overseas Investment Office compliance, management and divestment.
Ben Russell
Ben is a litigation specialist with broad expertise in commercial litigation and insolvency. He regularly advises clients on a range of commercial issues, including contractual, property, trust, fair trading, and shareholder disputes. Ben often gives advice to business involved in the agriculture, tourism, commercial property and financial services sectors. Ben regularly represents clients in the High Court and at arbitrations and mediations. Throughout Australia and New Zealand He has been involved in advising administrators, liquidators, receivers, secured lenders and other stakeholders in complex corporate insolvencies, particularly in relation to contentious aspects. Ben applies a strategic and pragmatic approach to resolving complex commercial disputes.
Andrea Watson
Andrea Watson is the Consulting Solicitor for the Landonline rebuild at Land Information New Zealand. She is tasked with engaging with Landonline users and other stakeholders to inform the rebuild and identify opportunities to align with the current and future needs of New Zealand’s property sector. Andrea previously worked at LINZ in the legal and quality assurance teams handling titles dealings. In private practice she has worked in boutique, mid-sized and large New Zealand law firms. Andrea spent the majority of her career as a senior property solicitor at Chapman Tripp where she specialised in registration matters from single property transactions through to infrastructure projects and large unit titles and subdivisions.
Simon Akozu
Simon is a Partner in the MinterEllisonRuddWatts Tax team. His areas of focus include M&A, infrastructure projects, financing arrangements, and property transactions. His clients including leading New Zealand corporates, financial institutions, and high net worth individuals. Simon has a keen interest in tax policy. He regularly writes and presents on new developments in tax.
