Presenters
Graeme Todd
Graeme has been a trusted legal adviser in the Queenstown Lakes region for almost four decades. He works with private and corporate entities, overseas residents, multinational corporations and local authorities. Graeme has considerable experience in several specialist areas, including advising on the acquisition of large farms and other significant commercial and property transactions and developments. He is also a primary adviser on applications and proceedings under the Overseas Investment Act – a specialist area of property law for overseas persons wishing to acquire property and businesses in New Zealand. Graeme is also a senior member of the Resource Management Law bar and has acted on some of the largest resource management cases in the South Island. Raised in Invercargill, Graeme has practised law since 1981. In 2009, Graeme’s service to the law and the community was recognised by the Archbishop of Canterbury with a South Island warrant to act as a Notary Public. He co-founded Todd & Walker Law, setting a high standard for one of Queenstown’s most diverse and expert law firms.
Pétra Allen
Pétra is a Director at Treadwell Gordon, based in Wanganui. Treadwell Gordon has serviced the surrounding rural regions for over 150 years with satellite offices in Waverly, Ohakune, Taihape, Marton and Feilding. Pétra has a strong background in rural practice with a focus on farming transactions and succession planning.
Mark Dineen
With a previous career in the agricultural livestock sector here in Canterbury, Mark has an intimate understanding of what it takes to succeed in agri-business. Mark advises private and corporate clients throughout the country and equity partnerships in relation to property, commercial, and estate planning.
Christina Sheard
Christina is a resource management specialist with over 20 years’ experience in leading law firms in Auckland and London. She advises industrial, commercial, residential and government clients on all aspects of the Resource Management Act and associated legislation. Christina has a special interest in urban growth and spatial planning. Her dual legal and planning qualifications give her a unique ability to provide pragmatic legal advice on environmental and planning issues. She has extensive experience with district and regional plan formulation, private plan change applications and legislative reform. Christina efficiently guides clients through the consenting process, from providing strategic advice during the project concept design phase through to obtaining consents. Her work within the transportation, energy and irrigation sectors has seen her involved in numerous major projects involving large teams of experts. Through this work she has also developed specialist expertise in freshwater management issues.
Amanda Spratt
Amanda advises clients on a range of property matters including complex acquisitions and disposals, commercial and retail leasing and property finance. She has a particular focus on overseas investment issues and receiverships and a strong interest in rural and farming law. She has completed a number of farm and vineyard disposals and acts for a major dairy processing company on a range of property-related matters. Amanda also has a construction law and environmental compliance background which provides her with a comprehensive understanding of all stages of property development.
