Angela Evans
Angela is a Partner at BE Employment, a specialist employment law and litigation firm. In addition to her employment law expertise, she has a commercial litigation background, has appeared in the Authority and in most courts where employment issues are heard and is keen on the strategic and advocacy aspects of employment law.
Olivia Welsh
Olivia specialises in commercial, civil and regulatory litigation with a particular focus on workplace health and safety matters. She has broad experience in providing health and safety legal compliance advice to businesses and regularly advises clients on ways to address health and safety risks both internally and in relationships with contractors, suppliers, and others. Olivia also assists clients in responding to workplace incidents, including providing guidance and representation during investigations and prosecutions by WorkSafe New Zealand, and coronial inquests. In addition to her specialist health and safety experience, Olivia has acted on a wide range of civil and commercial litigation matters, including insurance litigation, product liability, estate litigation, breach of contract, negligence cases, and construction disputes.
James Warren
James is a partner with Dentons Kensington Swan’s, employment and workplace health & safety team, based in Auckland with extensive experience working. in both the UK and New Zealand. He is regularly instructed on multi-jurisdictional projects and business transformations, while also dealing with investigations, dismissals and personal grievances. James is an approachable and responsive advocate when dealing with disputes, grievances and claims, focused on delivering practical and commercial solutions. He represents clients in both employment and health and safety litigation. James has been consistently recommended in The Legal 500 and has been described in various editions as a ’clear thinking adviser’ providing ’great customer service’, along with ’robust and practical advice’. He assists clients dealing with WorkSafe enforcement action and advises on a proactive approach to health & safety compliance. He is published widely and is regularly asked to speak at conferences and seminars. James’ recent work has seen a focus on the issues raised by the COVID-19 pandemic, including with home working and the use of masks.
