Mark Copeland, Principal, Mark Copeland Lawyers
Mark Copeland is a recognised senior New Zealand commercial lawyer. He is the Founder and Principal of Mark Copeland Lawyers. Prior to establishing his own Firm in 2009, Mark was a Partner in top-level, awards-winning corporate, commercial and specialist rural law firms in Auckland and Rotorua, New Zealand. He has acted for a wide range of clients, from private individuals to New Zealand government entities and major international corporations, advising on all aspects of commercial, agri-business and property laws. Mark is a Chartered Member of the NZ Institute of Directors, an Associate Member of the Arbitrators & Mediators Institute of New Zealand (AMINZ), a director of several large-scale agribusiness companies and a past member of the Advisory Board of the Bank of New Zealand for the Central Plateau Region.
Pétra Allen, Director, Treadwell Gordon
Pétra is a Director at Treadwell Gordon, based in Wanganui. Pétra has a strong background in rural practice with a focus on farming transactions and succession planning.
Vanessa Robb, Partner, Anderson Lloyd
Vanessa is a Partner in our Property and Private Client team. She joined Anderson Lloyd’s Queenstown office in August 2004, and moved to the Dunedin office in early 2019. Vanessa is a property specialist with expertise in rural property, subdivisions and property transactions, estate planning and trust law. Vanessa also has considerable experience in consents and approvals, conservation estate, district and regional plans and tourism. Vanessa has a diverse property law practice and has become a trusted adviser to a broad range of clients including private and corporate entities. Her range of experience, both in New Zealand and the UK, assists her to understand different clients’ needs, the complexities of their legal matters and to negotiate successfully with third parties. Vanessa is focused on understanding what her clients are looking to achieve and then working to get the desired outcome in a timely manner. Christina Lefever, Principal, Lefever Law
Christina is the principal at Lefever Law, a commercial law firm specializing in overseas investment advice and applications. Her experience with the Overseas investment Act consent process includes involvement in over 50 Overseas Investment Office (OIO) applications, including a significant number of applications relating to the agricultural sector (including farming, forestry and horticulture), and OIO applications under the new legislative tests introduced in 2018, including applications under the new streamlined forestry tests, and applications for residential land and property development exemption certificates. She is also a member of the OIO’s Legal Reference Group. Along with a comprehensive knowledge of the Overseas Investment Act and Regulations, Christina understands the practicalities associated with the application process (including applications for variations and exemptions) and the key issues that clients face.
Shelley Greer, Director, Gallie Miles
Shelley was awarded the gold medal for top honours at Waikato Law School in 2014 and went on to complete her Master of Laws in the area of intellectual property law. Shelley enjoys providing clients with advice and assistance on a broad range of issues involving the structuring and establishment of asset and succession plans, interpretation of trust deeds, the management and administration of trust funds and trust disputes. She is also experienced in Property (Relationships) Act issues and advises clients on both contracting out agreements and separation. Shelley is practical, thorough, and efficient, and enjoys the challenge of her work. Shelley is a member of the Mathematics for a Lifetime Charitable Trust Board.
