Joe Biddles is a specialist commercial property and real estate lawyer and a director of boutique law firm Thompson Blackie Biddles. Prior to this Joe worked at Russell McVeagh and formerly was the New Zealand Legal Counsel of Lion. Joe acts for a number of corporate and institutional clients and his practice covers all areas of commercial property including acquisitions and disposals, commercial leasing, developments, joint ventures and overseas investments in New Zealand. In the current market, Joe is noticing a particular focus on development work, (both freehold subdivisions and unit title developments) and a renewed focus on, and interest in, acquisitions (from both domestic and overseas buyers/funds).

Stuart is a barrister with a practice in resource management and public law. Stuart was a partner at Cooney, Lees Morgan and later at Hesketh Henry in Auckland before commencing practice as barrister in 2009.
Kristine King, Director, Duncan King Law Limited
Kristine works primarily in the areas of property, commercial law and trusts and has a passion for working with property developers and property traders. In addition to her legal work, Kristine is the Auckland area legal speaker for the ANZ Property Unlocked Seminar series and undertakes staff training on property issues for organisations such as ANZ, Auckland Property Investors Association and Bayleys. Kristine also donates her time to the New Zealand Law Society on property, trust and estate matters during her work as a Standards Committee Convener.
Phil Shannon, Partner, Turner Hopkins
Phil Shannon has been a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand since 1983. Phil holds both Bachelor of Law (LLB) and Master of Law (LLM) degrees. He has been a Commercial and Property Partner at Turner Hopkins since July 2016. Phil is a highly experienced general commercial and property lawyer with a background of providing top level legal advice to corporate, commercial, central local government and private clients. He advises clients on a wide range of high profile commercial projects, including business structuring, property due diligence, company law matters and asset protection. Phil also has extensive experience in construction law, environmental law, property development and leasing, national infrastructure projects and Public Works Act compensation claims.
Amy Cowan, Associate, Turner Hopkins
Amy is a Registered Legal Executive and Conveyancing Practitioner. Amy has been with Turner Hopkins since 2003 which has allowed her to forge strong relationships with long-standing clients of the firm. Amy has gained significant expertise in property development, commercial and residential conveyancing, and related funding activities. Amy has recently relocated to the Hawke's Bay and currently works from her home office in the Havelock North area. Amy is a current Trustee of the Amici Trust which provides support for training and education to foster performing arts talent both in Auckland and around New Zealand, and is a committee member for Napier Operatic Society.
