Catherine Stewart
Specialising in all areas of employment law, Catherine Stewart has around 25 years' experience as an employment and litigation lawyer. She joined the independent bar as a barrister sole in 2012, having held senior roles in employment law including at partnership level in a major city firm. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts in languages. She was admitted to the bar of the High Court of New Zealand in 1990. Catherine is a member of the New Zealand Bar Association, the New Zealand Law Society and the Auckland District Law Society Inc. Catherine is the Convenor of the Auckland District Law Society Inc Employment Law Committee.
Laurie Knight
Laurie Knight is a Staff Barrister in Catherine Stewart’s team. She advises and represents clients on the full range of employment law matters, including personal grievances, investigations, disciplinary meetings, mediations and negotiated exits, as well as contractual entitlements, restructuring processes and redundancies.
Amanda Douglas
Amanda Douglas leads the Employment and Health and Safety practice at Wynn Williams. She acts on the full range of Employment Law matters, with a particular focus in the dispute resolution area. Amanda gets alongside clients to work on the best outcome for them. She and her team are recognised by Chambers and Legal 500 for their expertise in these areas, and she also frequently speaks at Employment and Health and Safety conferences.
William Fussey
William is an employment law specialist and a keen and committed advocate for clients. He is experienced in advising on complex matters of workplace compliance (including Holidays Act issues), disciplinary matters, workplace investigations, employee restructures, personal grievances such as unjustified dismissal and disadvantage and drafting and advising on employment agreements. He provides a pragmatic and practical approach to complex issues. William has also worked on a number of Health and Safety at Work Act matters and has developed an expertise in privacy law.
