With the “most comprehensive changes to the Duties Act 2008 since it replaced the Stamp Act 1921” currently before WA Parliament, and 2018 being “the biggest year in estate planning in a generation”, this timely session will:
- Outline succession issues in common small business structures: trusts, companies and partnerships
- Tackle common problems encountered in practice
- Review amendments to the duties rules impacting landholders, corporate reconstructions and acquisitions of the family farm
- Illustrate how this might play out with some worked examples
