Carl Hinze
Dr Carl Hinze is a Partner in Holding Redlich’s Corporate & Commercial Group and is the national head of Holding Redlich’s China Practice. Before joining the firm, Carl worked for over 10 years in mainland China and Hong Kong in the fields of investment banking and law. Carl’s practice focuses on complex cross-border corporate transactions and commercial matters. Carl is a trusted advisor in managing contract risk, executing mergers and acquisitions, and implementing joint ventures and complex alliance arrangements. Carl is a co-editor of Oxford University Press’ Financial Services Regulation in Asia Pacific.
Malika Chandrasegaran
Malika Chandrasegaran is a partner at Herbert Smith Freehills. She is an experienced corporate lawyer with a focus on public and private mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment, joint ventures and other commercial transactions. She has advised international and domestic clients (including many ASX listed companies) across a wide range of industries, including consumer products, media and technology.
Peter McDonald
Peter McDonald advises clients on challenging competition law, consumer and regulatory issues with a view to giving options and finding the best commercial solution. His practice includes transactional advice, merger clearances, joint ventures and collaborations, access and market regulation and enforcement response and defence. Peter has worked across a range of industry sectors with leading clients such as BHP Billiton, Woodside, the North West Shelf Venture, Orica, DuluxGroup, Singapore Power, National Foods, Wesfarmers, Gunns and GUD. Peter has excellent relationships with key economic regulators and worked as a senior officer in the ACCC prior to joining Freehills. Peter holds a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Diploma in Economics from the Australian National University. Lisa Emanuel
Lisa is an antitrust specialist who helps businesses navigate complex transactions and fast changing regulatory environments.
She focuses on APAC merger control and regulatory investigations across a variety of industries, including digital platforms, energy and resources and financial services. Lisa brings commercial, specialist advice to a range of business structures and transactions, including M&A, joint ventures and other collaborative arrangements. She also helps her clients to navigate the full range of dealings with antitrust regulators, including merger review, market studies and enforcement action.
Alyce Ricciardi
With experience at a top tier and magic circle global law firms in Adelaide, Melbourne and London, Alyce brings a breadth of knowledge to her practice that helps her pre-empt, manage and solve complex issues for her clients.
Alyce’s significant cross-border capability gives her a global insight into transactions and an excellent grounding in all aspects of corporate law, but she has a particular interest in private and public M&A, equity capital raisings (including pre-IPO, IPOs and secondary raisings) and corporate governance.
