Fiona McLeod AO SC
Fiona McLeod AO SC is a Senior Counsel at the independent Bar in Australia practising in the areas of commercial and public law matters. She was awarded the inaugural Commonwealth Anti Slavery Australia award and appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in the 2020 Australia Day Honours for ‘distinguished service to the law, and to the legal profession, at the national and international level, and to women lawyers.
She is currently senior counsel assisting the Yoorrook Truth and Justice Commission. Fiona is a leader of the national and international legal profession having led the Law Council of Australia, Australian Bar Association, Victorian Bar and Australian Women Lawyers. She has been a champion for diversity and inclusion and has received numerous awards, including for her contribution to the advancement of women and human rights issues, in particular, human trafficking.
Annabel Tresise
Annabel is a barrister at the Victorian Bar, accepting briefs in commercial, common law and employment matters. Prior to coming to the bar, Annabel was the Senior Associate to the Honourable Associate Justice Efthim of the Supreme Court of Victoria. Before this, Annabel worked at boutique civil litigation and insolvency firm, Charles Fice Solicitors. Annabel holds a Bachelor of International and Global Studies (Philosophy and Political Economics) from the University of Sydney and a Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne. Annabel has a particular interest in modern slavery, and undertook an internship in Bangkok in 2014, which focused on modern slavery in the Thai shrimp industry. Between 2018 and 2021, Annabel was a private researcher to a leading expert on Modern Slavery in Australia.
