Keith Howe
Keith Howe has a broad practice across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales. He appears as an advocate at both trial and appellate level in matters involving many aspects of commercial, insurance, personal injury, property and common law matters generally, with an associated advisory practice. Keith is a nationally accredited mediator and has an extensive mediation practice both as a mediator and representing parties, in matters ranging from insurance, personal injury and Estate matters to general commercial disputes. In recent years Keith has developed an extensive mediation practice in TPD, income protection and financial advice disputes.
Nicholas Scott
Nick was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in July 2011. He worked for several years in personal injury for a boutique personal injury firm in Brisbane. He joined Maurice Blackburn in 2014, working in the Brisbane Personal Injuries Team for five years. In 2019, Nick joined Maurice Blackburn’s Superannuation and Insurance Litigation Team. Since 2021, Nick has been the State Leader of Maurice Blackburn’s Queensland Superannuation and Insurance Litigation Team, specialising in litigating life insurance and general insurance claims.
Debbie Anderson
Debbie Anderson works exclusively as a clinical neuropsychologist. She initially worked in public hospital settings before moving into full time private work. She evaluates clients at the referral of treating doctors, insurers and as an independent expert in medicolegal cases (personal injuries civil matters and cognitive aspects of capacity to stand trial in criminal matters). She enjoys the challenge of fully evaluating complex cases and had given evidence in legal proceedings on a number of occasions. She has several publications and conference presentations related to this work, which demonstrate her commitment to evidence-based practise. She supervises new graduates (registrars) and retains a casual university appointment, lecturing the students in clinical, neuropsychology and assessment skills.
Associate Professor Ranganath Rattehalli MBBS FRANZCP
Dr Rattehalli completed his Medical Degree from the University of Bangalore, India. He completed his Psychiatry training, attaining a Certificate in Rehabilitation Psychiatry in the United Kingdom. He then became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Dr Rattehalli is currently involved in private practice in Brisbane along with part-time work for Queensland Health. Additionally, he is a Chief Training Supervisor for Psychiatry Registrar Training Program and holds the Academic Title of Associate Professor at the Griffith University School of Medicine. He has previously held the position of Staff Specialist for the Mood Disorder Academic Clinical Unit of Metro South. Dr Rattehalli is accredited with formal training qualifications in assessment criteria as defined by the Psychiatric Impairment Rating Scale for Queensland, NSW and Tasmania. He is familiar with both AMA4 and AMA5. He has produced independent medico-legal reports for legal, insurance, government, superannuation, and workers compensation sectors. He has a particular interest in Mood Disorders and Anxiety Disorders, including Depressive, Bipolar and Posttraumatic Stress Disorders.
Gavin Handran KC
Over the past 18 years, Gavin has developed a broad commercial practice. He undertakes a wide range of trial and appeal work, as well as arbitrations, inquests, public examinations, alternate dispute resolution and advice work. Gavin is a nationally accredited mediator and a member of the Pro Bono and Self-Representation Service Reference Group for LawRight. He also supports LawRight by undertaking pro bono work for clients, in addition to contributing to sub-committees of the Queensland Bar Association.
