Michael Alexander
Michael Alexander has a wide-ranging commercial practice, including civil litigation, banking, insurance and bankruptcy / insolvency. He is an experienced appellate and trial advocate in both State and Federal jurisdictions. Michael is a nationally accredited mediator and arbitrator, mediating a wide range of disputes including family law, commercial matters and insurance disputes. He has also been involved in arbitrations in Queensland and throughout Australia.
Douglas Campbell KC
Douglas Campbell was admitted to the Bar in Queensland in 1982 and appointed to Silk in 2004. Douglas' main practice is in commercial litigation along with personal injury, equity, property and trade practices and competition matters. He was a former Associate to the Rt. Hon. Sir Harry Gibbs Chief Justice of Australia, and has lectured at the University of Queensland in Restitution. Douglas has a Masters of Law from Cambridge University, England.
Terry Edwards
Terry is a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) majoring in accountancy and Tax Law. He is member of CAANZ and is a holder of certificate of Public Practice. With more than 30 years’ experience in public accounting, initially via Coopers & Lybrand which became PricewaterhouseCoopers, and for the past 15 years with DLA Partners, Terry’s main focus has been in the Business Services area. His technical expertise encompasses designing and implementing business strategies, tailoring ownership structures, resolving disputes and managing large projects in addition to business and personal taxation, financial reporting and other taxation compliance matters. Terry’s clients include privately owned businesses, Australian subsidiaries of foreign entities, high wealth individuals, employees and professionals. They count on him for valuable insights and steady leadership, valuing both his determination and consistent focus on solutions. Terry offers a ‘big picture’ perspective whilst planning and executing practical and incremental strategies designed to deliver planned outcomes. Terry and many of his extended family are business owners. This gives him a unique perspective into the successful running of a business, including its professional and personal challenges. On both a personal and professional level Terry’s peers find him to be trustworthy, honest, sincere, loyal and a person of the highest integrity. Terry’s expertise and achievements are in the areas of taxation, coaching – staff and clients, business development, business operation and management, client liaison covering industries such as medical and healthcare, professional services, construction, transport, retail and manufacturing; and power generation.
Emily Billiau
Emily is a Principal of the firm's Compensation team. She has experience in all aspects of civil litigation with a particular interest in cycling related matters and medical negligence cases. As a result, she has a close association with Bicycle Queensland, regularly assisting their members by providing expert legal guidance when required. She is also passionate about helping women navigate the process of gaining compensation following a traumatic birth experience.
Kelly McIntyre
Kelly McIntyre has a broad commercial and administrative law practice which includes Insurance law and International Arbitration. Kelly is a Nationally Accredited Mediator and is the General Editor of the LexisNexis Alternative Dispute Resolution Bulletin. She holds a statutory appointment as a General Referee on the Queensland Government Development Tribunal and is also appointed to the Land Court ADR Panel as a Panel Mediator for the Land Court. Prior to being called to the Bar in 2010.
