Georgiena Ryan
Georgiena has over 20 years’ experience in advising rural and regional businesses, large and small, in Queensland and New South Wales. She has had the privilege as acting as solicitor to amazing family businesses, initially in her home State of Queensland in Goondiwindi where she grew up and later in the New South Wales Riverina and South West Slopes. Georgiena was the In-house Rural Legal Counsel for a specialist international rural and agribusiness bank, working closely with the rural finance managers across Australia and New Zealand and with the bank’s General Counsel and Group Company Secretary in Sydney. She has spent five years as the Legal and Compliance Manager and In-house Legal Counsel for a leading global agricultural asset manager, responsible for a significant irrigation and dryland farming portfolio across Australia.
Michael Perkins
Michael Perkins is an experienced Private Client lawyer with over 3 decades experience. He is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and holds its TEP designation. In March 2020 he founded Autonomy First Lawyers with Dr Jane Lonie and others which operates the Capacity and Capability Clinic at Macquarie University Hospital (the Clinic) as well as Autonomy First Lawyers, a private client law firm with focus on dealing with the interests of people irrespective of their ability. Michael’s practice ay Autonomy First is focused on mitigating abuse risk through early intervention in the cognitive decline of its clients.
Tim Poli
Tim is an experienced tax lawyer who provides advice regarding all Commonwealth and State taxes, ATO audits, tax litigation, estate planning, superannuation, trust law and tax and/or commercial crime. His clients range from individuals through to listed public companies. He represents and appears for clients in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and all State and Federal courts across a variety of matters from Part IVC tax proceedings to tax prosecution matters. Tim has a Bachelor of Laws and is admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia. Prior to establishing Kings Park Legal, Tim worked at other leading tax law firms in Australia, including Norton & Smailes, and he also worked at the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.
Shane Wilkins
Shane has 10 years’ experience in insurance, predominantly as an insurance broker specialising in the Agricultural industry. Having held several roles through major agricultural regions in Australia, Shane has developed a wealth of insurance experience across cropping, horticultural and pastoral activities and the agricultural services sector. Since joining Aon in August of 2018, Shane has worked in the Agricultural Industry Practice Group on agricultural strategy and corporate and large agribusiness accounts and is the National Practice Leader for Agriculture in Australia.
Scott Girdler
Scott Girdler is a Special Counsel within the Energy and Natural Resources team at Clayton Utz. He focuses on acquisition and disposal of assets, projects (including transport and logistics projects and supply agreements), corporate advice, property and financial services. Scott advises clients in a range of industry sectors including energy and resources, agribusiness, forestry (including for carbon sequestration), health and property. He has acted in relation to the acquisition and disposal of various pastoral stations and other agricultural land and businesses.
