Presenters
Peter Hunt
Peter is a Principal of McCabes Lawyers and the Practice Group Leader of the McCabes Statutory Insurance Group. His team was recognised by Doyle's Guide, based on industry feedback, as a First Tier Defendant CTP Law Firm in 2019, 2020 and 2021. Peter is the driving force behind the popular podcast series, The Proper Lookout Podcast, now boasting over 125 episodes. He authored the CCH Motor Accident Practitioners' Handbook from 2001 to 2016. He was a CARS Claims Assessor from 2004 to 2009. Peter is an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury and has served on the NSW Specialist Accreditation Advisory Committee since 2011.
Con Ktenas
Con joined Stacks Goudkamp in September 2018. He is an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury, a member of a number of Law Society Committees such as the Injury Compensation Committee, the Accredited Specialist Advisory Committee and the President of the Law Society’s Commercial Arbitration panel. Con is a current member of the Supreme Court Users Group chaired by the Chief Judge at Common Law. At Stacks Goudkamp he practises in the areas of personal injury litigation including Workers Compensation, Work Injury damages, Total Permanent Disability (TPD), Occupiers Liability, Professional Negligence, Medical/Dental negligence, asbestos litigation and toxic torts litigation such as the herbicide “Roundup”.
Amanda Bond
Amanda Bond is a partner of Gillis Delaney Lawyers who specialises in work injury damages and liability claims. Amanda has a particular interest in complex multi-party work injury damages claims involving the interaction between employers and third parties and has expertise in section 151Z claims. She is an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law and has over 20 years of experience in acting for insurers. In the last four years Amanda has been recognised by the Doyles Guide as a leading liability lawyer, pre-eminent worker’s compensation lawyer and recommended lawyer in CTP demonstrating her breadth of experience.
Will Murphy
Will is a partner at Bartier Perry. He practices in industrial accident law: workers compensation, common law claims and Work Health and Safety. In his personal injury practice Will acts exclusively for insurers and self-insurers. Will was one of the first accredited specialists in personal injury law in NSW.
Simon Grey
Simon was called to the bar in May 2019 and has a keen interest and growing practice in tort cases, particularly medical negligence, public liability and institutional abuse claims, as well as intentional torts. Simon graduated with honours from Macquarie University in 2012 where he topped Advanced Torts. Simon previously worked at Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers, primarily acting for plaintiffs in personal injury cases and then spent about 4 years acting at Crown panel firms for NSW Health and NSW Police in their torts teams. At the bar he has acted for plaintiffs and defendants including individuals, the Commonwealth and Police.
Ian Jones
Ian Jones specialises in major loss motor vehicle insurance claims for licensed insurers in NSW and interstate. He advises on all aspects of motor vehicle disputes, including major/catastrophic injury, indemnity disputes, fraud and actions against third parties, including recovery actions between insurers. Ian engages with insureds to foster stronger
relationships with his clients and has built strong rapport with claimant lawyers in the CTP sphere. He is a member of the Law Society Injury Compensation Committee and has also been appointed to the Personal Injury Commission’s Rules Committee.
Tim McKenzie
Tim McKenzie is a common law barrister with 30 years' experience in all aspects of common law. Tim's particular expertise is in industrial accidents; motor accidents; public liability and medical negligence matters with multiple defendants. A seminar presenter of many years standing, Tim has given seminars on various types of common law litigation. Tim practices in the District Court, the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal and has been involved in matters in the High Court.
Rob Taylor
Rob Taylor was admitted as a Solicitor in 1984 and as a Barrister in 1992. He has practiced for more than 38 years in personal injuries and associated litigation. Rob has a large practice involved in preparation of and appearing for injured workers in Work Injury Damages claims and for Plaintiffs in Medical Negligence claims, TPD and Income Protection claims and Common Law/Public Liability claims. He also has a large practice assisting in the preparation of Motor Accident claims and appearing at Assessments, mostly for injured Plaintiffs. From time to time, he has also appeared in and represented clients in the NSW Court of Appeal and the High Court.
