Mark Jappe
Mark worked in two of Adelaide’s leading law firms before starting his own firm, Jappe & Associates, specialising solely in wills and estates. In 2013 Jappe & Associates merged with Adelta Legal, where Mark continues to offer specialist assistance with all aspects of wills and estates and in particular estate litigation. Mark is a member of the Law Society of South Australia and has served on its Succession Law Committee since 2007. Mark has been recognised by Doyle’s Guide as a preeminent estate litigation lawyer and as a leading estate planning lawyer.
Graham Edmonds-Wilson KC
Graham Edmonds-Wilson is a barrister at Howard Zelling Chambers. He joined the Bar in 2007 and was appointed a Senior Counsel in 2016 and King’s Counsel in 2019. He has been in practice for 34 years. Graham has Master of Law, Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Economics degrees from the University of Adelaide. Graham is Co-Chair of the Succession Law Committee of the Law Society. On completing GDLP in 1987 he joined Baker McEwin in 1988 and with that firm and its successors until joining the Bar. He was a partner of Minter Ellison from 1998 to 2007. As a barrister a large part of Graham’s practice is in the field of succession law involving wills, trusts and deceased estates. He is often briefed in matters involving wills and trusts interpretation issues, family provision claims and other disputed estates matters.
Katarina Grenfell
Katarina was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in South Australia and the High Court in 1995, and was called to the bar in 2018. Katarina has a broad practice in civil, commercial and public law matters, which includes advising on and appearing in matters involving environment and planning law, employment law and estate law. Katarina is a member of the ABA International Committee and is recommended by Doyles Guide as junior counsel in environment and planning law matters.
Julie Van der Velde
Julie Van der Velde is the principal of a specialised commercial law firm, VdV Legal and has degrees in Business and Law and a Masters of Taxation Law. With over 20 years' experience advising South Australian businesses her practice focuses on taxation and trust law with an emphasis on estate planning, taxation, tax planning, business structuring, business succession and intergenerational transfers. Julie is a registered Trust and Estate Practitioner, a Chartered Tax Advisor and a Fellow of CPA Australia. Kate Bishop
Kate originally commenced practice in commercial law, in one of Adelaide’s most respected firms before pursuing her passion for family law where she has practised for the majority of her career. Her commercial background has provided her with the ability to advise on all forms of property settlements, with a particular interest in complex or significant asset pools, including advice regarding stamp duty implications, Capital Gains Tax implications, spousal maintenance, and child support obligations. multifaceted features that are attendant to difficult family law matters, including the Youth Court of South Australia, the Magistrates Court (Family Violence List) and the Supreme Court of South Australia.
Josh Simons
Josh Simons is an IP and competition & consumer law specialist. Josh's competition practice encompasses competition and regulatory issues affecting mergers, commercial supply arrangements and dealings with consumers. Clients seek Josh's advice on dealings with the ACCC and other regulators, and he regularly conducts compliance training and presents seminars on competition and consumer law issues. Chris Kelly
Chris practises in a diverse range of property law, with a strong focus on leasing and major commercial acquisitions as well as renewable energy and infrastructure projects. Judith Cocks
Judith is a barrister, who has practised in family law from Hugh Burton Chambers for over 10 years. She was admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor in 1989, and conducted her own firm from 1994. From the outset, her predominant area has been family law. She has acted in parenting and financial matters, and has also been appointed as an Independent Children’s Lawyer. Judtih has previously chaired the Family Law Committee of the Law Society of South Australia, has presented several seminars, and has assisted with presentation of the Bar Readers’ Course.
Rose Cocchiaro
Rose Cocchiaro is the director of Resolve Divorce Lawyers and is an accredited specialist in family law. Greg May
Greg May graduated from Law at Adelaide University in December 1984. He commenced practising in November 1984 with a firm that, through some mergers etc, ultimately became the Adelaide based member of the Minter Ellison Legal Group. After 21 years as a partner at Minter Ellison, Greg retired from the partnership in 2013. His roles with Minter Ellison over that time included as Chairman (2001 to 2007), Chief Operating Partner (2007 to 2011) and General Counsel (2011 to 2013). Greg started as the Legal Profession Conduct Commissioner on 1 February 2014, with that role then formally commencing on 1 July 2014. He was appointed initially for a 5 year term, and was then re-appointed for a further 5 year term. Greg’s non-work interests include playing golf and watching sport - mainly the Adelaide Crows and the Adelaide 36ers. He is married with two adult children.

Kathryn Heuer was appointed as a Senior Judicial Registrar, based in the Adelaide Registry on 12 July 2020. Having practised in family law since 1989, the breadth and depth of Kathryn’s expertise has ensured her reputation as a highly regarded legal practitioner in all matters related to family relationships. Kathryn has been a qualified mediator for 30 years and was previously a Registrar of the Family Court in the Canberra Registry. Margaret Ross
Margaret is a barrister and mediator in Australia, where she has been a legal practitioner for 30 years and a mediator for 25 years. She has mediated in excess of 1,000 disputes since 1990. She specialises in Family Law, Mediation and Dispute Management in a wide area of disputes. Margaret is a Nationally Accredited Mediator and a Registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner. Amy Nikolovski
Amy Nikolovski is a Partner at Duncan Basheer Hannon. In 2006 Amy worked as an Advocate for the Australian Workers Union before moving to Duncan Basheer Hannon in 2007 where she practices in the areas of workers compensation, motor vehicle accidents, public liability and general civil litigation. Amy has been an active member of the Law Society since her admission in 2007 and was a former Chair of the Young Lawyers Committee. Marissa Mackie
Marissa is a barrister at Anthony Mason Chambers, having being called to the Bar in July 2020 after practising as a lawyer for over ten years. She has extensive experience in taxation, banking and finance, bankruptcy and corporate insolvency, administrative law and regulatory litigation. Prior to coming to the Bar she was selected as the participant of the Step up to the Bar program in 2019/2020.
