Alice Spizzo
Alice Spizzo of Alice Spizzo Advisory, specialises in Planning & Environmental Law. Alice has extensive experience in government and the development industry as a lawyer, executive and senior ministerial advisor including Chief-of-Staff and Executive Director at the then NSW Department of Planning responsible for policy and legislative reform. Alice provides advice to a variety of business and government clients on planning and environmental approvals and licences, planning proposals and agreements, issues management, dispute resolution, governance and risk.
Breellen Warry
Breellen Warry is a Partner within the Public Law team at Maddocks. Breellen advises both private and public sector clients across various industries on a wide range of planning, environment and government matters. Breellen also has extensive experience advising NSW State government and local councils on planning and environmental law and has worked both within and for government agencies in NSW and in the UK. Breellen has also lectured at Western Sydney University, teaching planning and environmental law and has authored Thomson Reuters' Planning and Development Law Service.
Peter Holt
Peter is a special counsel in Holding Redlich’s planning and environment team.
Peter is recognised as an Accredited Specialist in Planning and Local Government law by the Law Society of NSW. Peter is a highly respected and influential thought leader on environmental, planning and building matters in New South Wales. Peter regularly acts for private developers, accredited certifiers, councils and NSW State government agencies.
Peter has over ten years’ experience working on policy development and the implementation of innovative legislative reform initiatives. This includes being responsible for the policy and legal framework behind the New South Wales Government’s ePlanning program; overseeing the expansion of the BASIX certification scheme.
Brett Whitworth
Brett Whitworth is the Deputy Secretary, Planning Policy with the Department of Planning and Environment. Brett’s responsibilities cover the efficient and effective operation of the planning system in NSW and leadership of major reforms in the area of development contributions, green and resilient planning, population and demographics as well as development assessment policies. Brett’s focus is on creating a more streamlined and strategy led planning system to ensure a more collaborative approach, tied to a faster and stronger planning system
Dr David Robertson
Dr David Robertson is a highly respected ecological all-rounder with 35 years of ecology experience since obtaining his doctorate at Melbourne University in 1985. David has expertise in botany and zoology for both terrestrial and freshwater aquatic habitats. Since founding Cumberland Ecology in 2003, David has established himself as a trusted and successful expert witness in the Land and Environment Court for even the most complex ecological projects. David has a deep working knowledge of environmental law and applies that to effect in court. He is renowned for his big picture approach and for his ability to negotiate approvable outcomes for the Court.
James Kingston
James is a qualified Solicitor and town planner who has worked extensively across public and private sectors, managing the design, assessment and construction of a diverse range of projects. In his previous roles as a town planner, James acted for applicants and consent authorities in relation to residential, commercial, education, health, recreation, entertainment and transport development projects. James now works as a Solicitor specialising in environment and planning law. He primarily practices in the Land and Environment Court, whilst also acting on a wide range of advisory matters and representing clients at various local planning panels and regional planning panels.
