LEARN THROUGH A HYPOTHETICAL-BASED WORKSHOP FOCUSED ON A REAL CASE WITH DIFFERENT SCENARIOS
Work through a hypothetical set of facts in relation to land resumption and compensation and then proceed collectively and individually to deal with the legal, planning and valuation issues that can arise, all while working with examples and engaging in Q&A with the presenters.

Presenters
Peter McGowan
Peter McGowan was admitted to practice in 1975. He was a partner of Phillips Fox from 1977-1997. He joined Francis Burt chambers in 1997. In 2003 Peter was appointed inaugural President of the Town Planning Appeal Tribunal. In 2005 he returned to practice as a barrister at Francis Burt Chambers. As part of a broad commercial practice Peter maintains an interest in planning matters and appears as counsel before the State Administrative Tribunal on planning applications.
Tim Houweling
Tim Houweling is a Partner at Cornerstone Legal and Adjunct Professor of Law at Murdoch University and lectures in Ethics. Tim has primarily practiced law involving Town Planning, Environmental Law, Native Title, Land Compensation matters, and Local Government Law in Supreme Court and the State Administrative Tribunal.
Jenny Le-Fevre
Jenny has been a professional property valuer for 40 years, working with large and small valuation departments and firms in Perth and a stint in a City practise in Melbourne. She is a sole Practitioner based in Rockingham since moving back to suburbia in 1999 after a thirteen year stay in the WA wheatbelt. She is experienced in many different types of valuations and has valued property around the State; taught in Valuation at WAIT prior to the Curtin course in Property; was a member of the Institute of Arbitrators Australia for several years; and was a member of the Land Valuer's Licensing Board for ten years until 2008.
