Angela De Silva
Angela is an Accredited Immigration Law Specialist and has 10 years of immigration experience consulting to major Australian and international organisations. She also has experience with Australia's humanitarian visa program by representing clients for protection visa matters. Angela is a Solicitor admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and has previously worked in criminal law at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in Queensland. She is a member of the New South Wales Law Society and a member of the Migration Institute of Australia.
Simon Jeans
Simon Jeans has been practising law since 1989. Simon is listed by Best Lawyers for Australia in Immigration Law. Simon has worked as an advocate for refugees and migrants with the Jesuit Refugee Service, RACS, Legal Aid(NSW), UNHCR and in his law firm. Simon was a member of the Migration Review Tribunal and Refugee Review Tribunal from 2010-2015. Simon has been engaged by the College of Law in 2019-20 as an assessor and external moderator for the Capstone Migration Agents exam. He advices and writes submissions for the Department of Home Affairs, AAT or Minister.
Sophie Manera
Sophie is head of migration at Tang Law. She specialises in complex migration matters, including representing clients with character and health concerns, business migration, representing clients at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and courts, and making requests for Ministerial Intervention. Sophie presents regularly for various industry organisations and has taught at Murdoch University and the Australian Catholic University. In 2019 she was awarded the Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Award for Mentor of the Year. Sophie is currently a member of the Migration Institute of Australia WA State committee and has previously held the role of vice-president.
Ken Chong
Ken was admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of Western Australia in November 2018. He commenced his legal career at Rothstein Lawyers, one of Perth’s longest established specialist immigration law firms. Along with Sophie Manera, Ken joined Tang Law in January 2021 to form part of their growing immigration law team. Ken brings significant experience in preparing and lodging a variety of visa and sponsorship applications, in addition to dealing with complex immigration and citizenship law matters such as visa refusals, cancellations, identity concerns, character issues, merits review and judicial review applications.
Ray Turner
Ray has advocated throughout his career for Government and private clients in all Courts and tribunals and is regularly appointed by the Federal Courts, due to his level of skill and expertise, to act for unrepresented clients appearing before the Courts. He was recently recognised by the Law Society of New South Wales for 20 years of service in advising and acting for clients and as one of Australia's top migration law practitioners. Ray has experience in all areas of migration law and particularly in business/investor visas, general skilled migration, spouse/family visas, refugee applications, character issues, detention/deportation and visa cancellations.
Neil Arora
Neil expertise is in immigration, commercial, and government/administrative law matters.
Before returning to private practice, Neil held senior legal roles with the Department of Home Affairs managing the Government’s immigration litigation case load, including its High Court test caseload, and heading its internal immigration advising area dealing with difficult cases. Neil frequently assists existing and start-up businesses to enable their key personnel to work in Australia. He is experienced in advising on employer sponsored, skilled and business visas. He also advises and assists in general migration visa classes including student, partner and family.
