Irene Ryan
Irene Ryan went to the bar in 1987. Has been a practicing and practitioner since 1987. She has been an arbitrator and has coached mock trials in the past. Irene is a full-time practitioner.
Tim Concannon
Tim has been a partner with Carroll & O'Dea Lawyers since 2001. Tim has been a Law Society Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law since 2000 and an Assessor with the Claims Assessment and Resolution Service (CARS) since 2004. Tim has also been a member of the Law Society's Injury Compensation Committee since 2008 and Deputy Chair since 2020. He has played a leading role in drafting submissions to government agencies relevant to various areas of personal injury law and appeared on behalf of the Law Society at a number of government inquiries into the functioning of the workers compensation and motor accident schemes.
Elizabeth Edgar
Elizabeth joined Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers in July of 2018. She graduated from the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Laws and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2013.
Elizabeth is currently completing her Master of Laws at the University of Sydney. Elizabeth commenced her career working for an Insurer and has a broad range of experience working for both plaintiffs and defendants across motor vehicle accidents, workers compensation both State and Commonwealth, public liability and medical negligence.
Con Ktenas
Con joined Stacks Goudkamp in September 2018. He has over 30 years of experience and is an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury, a member of a number of Law Society Committees such as the Injury Compensation Committee, the Accredited Specialist Advisory Committee and the President of the Law Society’s Commercial Arbitration panel. Con is a Local Court Arbitrator and a former District Court Arbitrator. He is a member of the Supreme Court Users Group chaired by the Chief Judge at Common Law. Con is also a Notary Public. At Stacks Goudkamp he practises in the areas of personal injury litigation.
Valerie Heath
Valerie has been in private practice as a barrister for more than 20 years and previously worked in insurance and government roles. Valerie’s practice is principally in insurance and related fields. She specialises in life insurance and superannuation (particularly TPD and income protection claims), general insurance and government liability. She has substantial experience in advising on statutory construction, particularly relating to statutory insurance schemes and the regulation of insurance and insurers. She regularly acts for insureds and beneficiaries, superannuation trustees, major insurers and financial institutions, brokers and statutory corporations and other government entities.
Petros Macarounas
Petros Macarounas is a barrister at Frederick Jordan Chambers. He maintains a broad practice, with his core areas of focus encompassing commercial and equity, common law, family law and criminal law. He appears predominantly for plaintiffs in personal injury matters, and insurers in motor vehicle property litigation, and his commercial practice sees him acting for both individuals and small companies. Prior to being called to the Bar, Petros practised as a solicitor at Henry Davis York and McLachlan Chilton, where he gained significant experience in the areas in which he continues to practice, providing him with a well-balanced approach when representing clients.
