Christopher has a broad commercial practice specialising in contract, trusts, corporations, insolvency and consumer protection. He is also experienced in complex litigation involving wills and estates, employment, torts and administrative law. He regularly appears in all state and federal courts and specialist tribunals. Before becoming a barrister, Christopher was a solicitor at a large national law firm and a judge’s associate. He is a regular presenter at industry seminars and conferences, has published numerous papers and journal articles and holds a doctorate from Queensland University of Technology.
Greg Richards, Partner, Mills Oakley
Greg Richards is a Partner in the Building, Construction and Infrastructure Group of Mills Oakley in Brisbane. Greg has over 20 years' experience in legal practice and has dealt with a wide range of issues affecting construction projects during that time. Even though in private practice he continues to undertake research matters with academics at the Griffith University and the University of Queensland and has published in a wide variety of academic journals in the USA, UK and Australia. Adrian’s current research interests include Telecoms security, IT security, IT governance, cryptocurrencies, blockchain and its uses in supply chain management, Decentralised Autonomous Organisations and Identity Management. He is also investigating the impact of autonomous vehicles and machine learning and their policy considerations.

Angela Laylee practiced as a solicitor in Brisbane for 12 years and was called to the Bar in 2016. Angela is experienced in family law matters, wills and estates disputes (in particular family provision applications), and commercial litigation including insolvency, contract disputes and property matters. As well as appearing regularly in both the state and federal jurisdictions, Angela is also frequently involved in Alternate Dispute Resolution processes.
Stephen Dickens, Partner, Mills Oakley
Stephen Dickens has over 30 years' experience, including 2 years in the UK, in dealing with commercial, corporate and property disputes, and insolvency matters. Since mid-2009, he has been a Partner within Mills Oakley's national Commercial Disputes & Insolvency practice, and a member of the Firm's National Risk Management Committee. He is a regular presenter at industry seminars and conferences. He is a QLS accredited specialist in Commercial Litigation (since 2007), and has received listings as a recommended Commercial Disputes lawyer, including in Legal500 Asia Pacific (2019 and 2020).
Rob Cumming, Barrister, Inns of Court
After 35 years as a solicitor, Rob commenced practising as a barrister at the Queensland Bar in May 2017. Rob specialises in a range of estate, trust and disability law issues. He is well versed in dealing with estate litigation, particularly family provision applications, construction, rectification and cy-pres applications, and solemn form proceedings. Darius Hii, Director, Chat Legal
Darius is an estate planning and tax lawyer, who works alongside private clients and advisors to provide comprehensive structuring advice. The core of his work revolves around personal and business succession planning. This often involves preparing holistic estate plans and ensuring they are structured to complement a client's succession planning and asset protection intentions, as well as implementing tax effective business succession and restructuring strategies. He has developed a deep interest in trusts and taxation which complements his area of practice, and has spent time involved with payroll and land tax disputes with the Office of State Revenue.
Bruce Thiele, Barrister, Brisbane Chambers
Bruce was admitted as a Solicitor in 1995 and commenced his own law firm in 1997, providing family law advice and conveyancing. He became an Accredited Specialist in Family Law in 1999. He was called to the Bar in 2006, and has been practising almost exclusively in family law and child protection matters ever since. His specialist focus on family law has enabled him to explore resolving of family law disputes through mediation or arbitration, as an alternative to the adversarial approach in the courtroom. Bruce is a member of the Australian Institute of Family Law Mediators and Arbitrators (AIFLAM).
