John Davies
John was called to the Bar in 2001 and practices principally in the area of commercial disputes. Prior to being called to the Bar John practised as a solicitor and lawyer in Australia and Japan. John holds degrees in Arts and Law from the University of Queensland and the degree Master of Law from Cambridge University. John’s commercial practice encompasses advising on and acting in disputes in Contract (including related equitable and statutory claims), Property and Finance, Professional Negligence, Administrative Law (including Judicial Review), Corporations (including directors’ duties and preference claims), Insolvency (corporate and personal), Estates, Building and Construction (including domestic and international arbitrations) and Disciplinary proceedings.
Maree Adshead
Maree is the Queensland Small Business Commissioner. The Commissioner aims to advocate, enable and empower small businesses to help drive economic growth in Queensland. Maree is an experienced advocate and small business owner having spent 10 years in the legal profession, and as partner of a tier one national law firm. She co-founded and built her own successful software start-up businesses which received multiple awards for excellence in innovation, and has also been instrumental in helping others to build theirs.
Justin Clarke
Justin commenced his Real Estate career in 1989 working for a small agency focused on Brisbane's Commercial, Industrial and Retail sectors. His passion for this industry led him to complete tertiary education through the University of Queensland in Valuation. In 2007, Justin was welcomed as a member of the Academic Advisory Panel for Bond University Mirvac School of Sustainable Development. Justin is the currently on the Board of National Directors for McGees Australia and heads the Advisory department of McGees Property Brisbane. In 2016, Justin established and founded the funds management company, Exceed Capital, where we has been involved in the acquisition of significant assets in South Grafton, Beenleigh and Goonellabah.
Julie Miehe
Julie is a dual French and Australian qualified lawyer with extensive experience working with both Australian and foreign corporations as well as Australian Federal and Queensland departments, agencies and government owned entities. She provides advice on investments and operations in Australia and across the Pacific region (having worked in New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea). Before joining Keypoint, Julie was the Managing Director of Brisbane-based Océanie Lawyers. Earlier in her career, Julie was a lawyer with Blake Dawson (now Ashurst) and a partner at Holding Redlich.
Peter Travers
Peter has a broad commercial practice with a particular focus on contractual and property disputes, corporate insolvency and bankruptcy and building and construction matters. Peter also regularly acts in administrative and family law matters. Peter appears in both State and Federal Courts. Prior to being called to the bar, Peter practiced as a solicitor in the litigation and dispute resolution department of a leading mid-tier firm. Before practicing law, Peter served as an officer with the Royal Australian Air Force with multiple operational deployments. Peter continues to serve in a reserve capacity.
Tracy Carr
Tracy is a Senior Associate in the Sydney Real Estate team at top-tier global law firm Ashurst. Tracy has a decade of experience in legal practice, having worked in both Queensland and New South Wales, and has become an expert in all aspects of property law in a number of Australian jurisdictions. Tracy enjoys transactional and advisory work involving high value commercial, industrial, agricultural and retail property and new developments, across all Australian jurisdictions and overseas (including using electronic conveyancing platforms such as PEXA). Tracy is energised by high value and complex transactions and is passionate about providing clients with a seamless and efficient experience.
