Paula Shelton
Paula Shelton is a Special Counsel at Adviceline Injury Lawyers, and is an accredited personal injury specialist. With more than 27 years’ litigation experience, Paula has worked across a breadth of areas including medical negligence, asbestos, institutional sexual abuse, product liability, public liability, asbestos, class actions and social justice litigation. Paula’s dedication to high quality healthcare led her to take up a Board position at Northern Health in 2016. She serves on the Western Health Institutional Ethics Committee and Human Research & Ethics Committee and the board of Northern Health. Paula was appointed to the Victorian Voluntary Assisted Dying Review Board in 2018.
Tom Ballantyne
Tom Ballantyne is a Principal Lawyer and the head of Maurice Blackburn’s medical negligence department in Victoria. He is a Law Institute of Victoria Personal Injury Accredited Specialist, is listed in the prestigious Doyles guide, and is the Australian Lawyers Alliance Victorian President. Tom runs complicated litigation across all areas of health care – obstetrics, delay in diagnosis, orthopaedics and emergency departments. Tom also represents families at Coronial Inquests, acting on behalf of the families of people who have died following poor medical treatment.
Abhi Mukherjee
Abhi Mukherjee is a barrister on Greens List. Prior to joining the Victorian Bar in 2013, Abhi was a barrister in London for over 10 years practising in personal injury, medical negligence, inquests and medical disciplinary work. In addition, he has been involved in judicial review proceedings mostly involving medical panels. Abhi has appeared in a number of coronial inquests which have involved deaths following care in intensive paediatric units; post-surgical deaths and those involving patients released from psychiatric units. Abhi has a particular interest in the management of expert evidence in the course of civil litigation and in the workings of the Civil Procedure Act 2010.
Leanne Dillon
Leanne Dillon is General Counsel at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. She is an experienced legal and governance executive with extensive experience and understanding of the government and not for profit sector. With a background in nursing, Leanne now specialises in health and medical law and has worked across a range of executive management roles including Legal Counsel, Board Secretary and Director Clinical Governance and Medico-Legal. Leanne also has a strong interest in governance and holds a Director position on the Board of cohealth, the largest provider of community health services in Victoria.
