Maithri Panagoda
Maithri Panagoda has been practising in NSW for 40 years. An Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law since 1994, he has acted for over 250 members of the Stolen Generations. He is a member of the Law Society’s Personal. Injury Advisory Committee. He is an Adjunct Professor of the School of Law, University of Notre Dame.
Richard Royle
Richard Royle specialises in common law with a particular interest in motor vehicle law, medical negligence, public liability, sexual assault and travel law. He is engaged in numerous catastrophic and other cases, and represents Australian residents injured in Australia and overseas. Richard was originally admitted to practice in the UK, but has been based in NSW for 25 years. He is a former NSW State President of the Australian Lawyers) and current committee member of the ALA and the Personal Injuries Common Law Committee of the NSW Bar Association.
Petros Macarounas
Petros Macarounas is a barrister at Frederick Jordan Chambers. He maintains a broad practice, with his core areas of focus encompassing commercial and equity, common law, family law and criminal law. He appears predominantly for plaintiffs in personal injury matters, and insurers in motor vehicle property litigation, and his commercial practice sees him acting for both individuals and small companies. Prior to being called to the Bar, Petros practised as a solicitor at Henry Davis York and McLachlan Chilton, where he gained significant experience in the areas in which he continues to practice, providing him with a well-balanced approach when representing clients.
Con Ktenas
Con joined Stacks Goudkamp in September 2018. He has over 30 years of experience in litigation in every jurisdiction. He is an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury, a member of a number of Law Society Committees such as the Injury Compensation Committee, the Accredited Specialist Advisory Committee and the President of the Law Society’s Commercial Arbitration panel. Con is a Local Court Arbitrator and a former District Court Arbitrator. He is a past President of the City of Sydney Law Society and a current member of the Supreme Court Users Group chaired by the Chief Judge at Common Law. Con is also a Notary Public. He has volunteered in various community legal centres and worked as a part time legal academic for many years. At Stacks Goudkamp he practises in the areas of personal injury litigation including Workers Compensation, Work Injury damages, Total Permanent Disability (TPD), Occupiers Liability, Professional Negligence, Medical/Dental negligence, asbestos litigation and toxic torts litigation such as the herbicide “Roundup”.
Mick Franco
As a Director of Bartier Perry and leader of our Insurance Division, Mick advises employers and insurers on the most effective ways to manage employee claims. Mick is widely recognised by the industry as an expert in workers compensation. He has contributed extensively to the debate on workers compensation in NSW and written on schemes across Australia. He is recognised as a leading Workers Compensation Lawyer from 2016 to 2019 by Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession.
Dr Alan Home
Dr Alan Home graduated in medicine at the University of WA in 1984. He completed training in Occupational Medicine in the United Kingdom in 1992 and his Fellowship of the Australian Faculty of Occupational Medicine of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in November 1993. He works as an occupational physician and independent medical examiner in Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth. He is an Approved Medical Specialist in WA and NSW. He is also a medical assessor for the NSW Motor Accident Authority. In his role as a member of the WorkCover Medical Committee he is asked to conduct regular peer review of medical reports. He provides training in the WorkCover WA Guidelines for the assessment of permanent impairment.
Tim McKenzie
Tim McKenzie is a common law barrister with 26 years' experience in all aspects of common law. Tim's particular expertise is in industrial accidents and public liability claims with multiple defendants. A seminar presenter of many years standing, Tim has given seminars on various types of common law litigation over his career. Tim practices in the District Court, the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal and has been involved in matters in the High Court. As a speaker, Tim has given papers at a number of conferences throughout Australia.
Anna Walsh
Anna Walsh is a lawyer specialising in Medical Law and Bioethics. An Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury law, she spent 10 years as a Principal in the Medical Law department of Maurice Blackburn Lawyers, where she acted for plaintiffs in a number of novel medical negligence cases as well as high profile inquests in the Coroner's Court. She teaches full time in the School of Law at University of Notre Dame and is also an Adjunct Lecturer at the College of Law in Civil Litigation and Ethics, and practices as a private Legal Consultant.
Daniel Hanna
After practising 7 years in a boutique insurance firm and 12 years in one of Australia's top 20 firms, Daniel Hanna joined the Parramatta Bar in 2011. His common law practice is mainly in the CTP and public liability fields. Over time he has developed specific expertise in the technical fields of Compensation to Relatives, Nominal Defendant claims, administrative law reviews and statutory limitation issues. Current clients include all major CTP insurers and many leading plaintiff personal injury practices, particularly in Sydney's west and regional areas.
Phillipe Doyle Gray
Philippe is a barrister at 8 Wentworth Chambers in Sydney. With nearly 20 years’ experience at the Bar, he maintains a diverse civil law practice, ranging from commercial and equity matters to professional negligence, professional disciplinary matters including disputes between legal professionals and their clients regarding legal costs and disbursements. He is a progressive and forward-thinking barrister, with an avid interest in the law and its interaction with technology. His international reach has also seen him deliver presentations on developments in the law and topical issues in Australia and abroad, including being the first and only Australian invited to present at the TECHSHOW, the American Bar Association’s annual legal technology conference in Chicago.
