Presenters
David Jury
David is a partner at HWL Ebsworth with over 20 years' experience in negotiating, drafting and litigating contracts primarily for those involved in the building and construction industry. With experience for owners, government, contractors, sub-contractors and consultants David has provided advice to clients on a variety of issues and from different perspectives. David's experience in litigation as well as alternate dispute resolution has provided him with valuable insights into how parties to contracts can improve their chances of avoiding disputes.
Peter Sarlos
Peter's present focus of activity involves the application of his skills and experience gained through over 45 years involvement in the building industry as an architect, Lawyer, expert, & construction adjudicator. Peter has actively participated in industry organisations where he, together with others addresses issues facing the industry including:
- Architects Registration Board of NSW
- NSW Chapter of the (R)AIA through participation in the Institute’s Chapter Council, Practice Committee, CPD Committee and Senior Counsellor Service.

Greg McCann
Greg is a partner of Colin Biggers & Paisley and leads the national workplace relations and work health and safety teams. Greg has many years' experience in private practice in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, working for national corporations in a wide range of industries including transport, mining, retail, labour hire and oil and gas. Greg is an expert in work health and safety with over 18 years' experience. He has acted in numerous WHS cases and has assisted many corporations with strategic safety advice, including advice and seminars to directors and officers on their WHS responsibilities.
Eli Gescheit
Director of Navon Solutions, is a sought after speaker on urban planning in NSW. He believes in sharing his wealth of knowledge having worked in both Councils and urban planning consultancies. Eli has presented to numerous groups over the past 5 years including architects, interior designers, landscape architects, property developers and mum and dad investors.
Vanessa Morschel
Vanessa Morschel is a qualified town planner, real estate valuer and development manager. She has worked for local councils, consultancies and private and not for profit property developers. Currently Non Executive Director on the board of community housing developer, BlueCHP and senior leader at Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong. Vanessa has specialist knowledge and experience preparing, administering and reviewing local contributions plans and planning agreements on behalf of local councils. Vanessa also has extensive negotiation and implementation experience associated with one of the largest voluntary planning agreements at Oran Park Town. Vanessa has led project teams from funding, design and handover of playgrounds, roads, splash parks, schools, community centres, skate parks and sports fields.
Craig Poulter
Craig is a Senior Fire Engineer and leader of the cladding team at Omnii Consulting Fire Engineers. Craig brings extensive experience in the fire sector with over 23 years as a professional firefighter for Fire Rescue New South Wales and holds a Master’s Degree in Fire and Explosion Investigation. On leaving the brigade Craig undertook work in the natural resources sector including as the Australasian emergency response specialist for MMG mining group before returning to Sydney as the Fire Safety Manager for the Sydney Opera House. From here with his expertise with compliance pathways tailored to client and State Government requirements, bespoke Insurance cladding assessments and due diligence cladding reports then lead him to his current role within Omnii. Craig also holds a Bachelor of Business Studies and Bachelor of Law and was admitted in NSW in 2013.
Brian Meyerson
Brian has more than 37 years of experience working in South Africa, the Middle East and Australia. He held roles at practices Group GSA and Denton Corker Marshall before forming Brian Meyerson Architects in 1997 growing a team of 25 designers by 2011 and evolving into a practice of 40 professionals, as MHN Design Union, committed to the consideration of innovative, sustainable and quality outcomes to contemporary urbanism. Brian has credentials in developing innovative design solutions for challenging sites having led the design of several recent significant projects including The Forum, The Beach House, Viking and Aria. Some 100 private homes in Sydney also form the practices’ portfolio. With a passion to achieve sustainable outcomes, Brian has a long held interest in ESD and was involved in environmental research projects in Israel, co-authoring the “History of Adobe Architecture in Palestine”. Recent significant projects include DEC winning competitions for One Sydney Park and Portman Road Green Square.
