Rick Manuel
Rick Manuel is a barrister specialising in employment, industrial relations and human rights as well as general commercial litigation. Rick was admitted as a solicitor in 1990 and established the firm, EMA Legal, in 1995. The firm acted only for employers. However, once Rick was admitted to the independent bar in 2006 he commenced to act for both employers and employees. Rick has a wide ranging practice, including unfair dismissals, general protection orders, discrimination, underpayment of wages, breach of contract, restraint of trade and related matters.
Rob Humphreys
Rob is Special Counsel at MinterEllison and has extensive experience at top tier firms in Perth and Sydney providing employers with commercial and strategic advice on all aspects of employment and work health and safety law. Rob specialises in advising on employment disputes and subsequent litigation, including general protections and common law breach of contract claims, as well as pursuing urgent injunctions against former employees. He has represented employers in the Fair Work Commission, Federal Circuit Court, Supreme Courts of WA and NSW and the Federal Court. He also has a particular focus on advising employers on complex and sensitive workplace investigations involving senior employees and dealing with fraud, conflict of interest and Whistleblower legislation.
David Fechner
David is a Corporate Finance Partner with BDO in South Australia. His knowledge across business value drivers means he approaches clients from an informed perspective, providing insight from the outset. David provides support to fast growth businesses, including advising on valuations, mergers and acquisitions. He has significant experience with engagements for both publicly listed and private companies. Highly regarded by his peers, David has presented to industry bodies including the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, CPA and the Taxation Institute of Australia.
