Presenters
Dr Richard Sekel is an occupational medical practitioner and cofounder of the occupational medical practice, IMMEX, which commenced in 1976. He was on the WorkCover Advisory Committee involved in the 1998 Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation Act. He is Chair of the Education Committee of the Australian Medico-Legal College, and created the syllabus for Trainee Fellows of the College. He is on the International Training Faculty of the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners. He is on the Editorial Advisory Board of International Disability Journal. For the past eight years he has been an annual presenter at the Australian Orthopaedic Association’s Medicolegal Conference. His topic in 2018 was Objective Evidence in Independent Medical Reports. He is a book reviewer for the American Medical Association (the publishers of the AMA Guides). He is a NSW WorkCover (now SIRA) Authorised Health Practitioner, Authorised Medical Practitioner and Injury Management Consultant. He is a Certified Independent Medical Examiner (CIME), a Fellow of the International Academy of Independent Medical Evaluators (FIAIME), a Fellow of the Australian Medico-Legal College (AMLC), and has a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
