Presenters
Katie Timms joined RSM Australia in 2005 and was appointed a Director in 2015. She has specialised in superannuation since becoming an accountant in 2001. She works with a combination of regional and metropolitan clients, providing assistance with technical matters and ongoing compliance requirements. She is regularly consulted for advice on pension strategies, asset acquisitions strategies and other technical matters, and is the National Head of Superannuation for RSM. Katie has regularly presented for the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Legalwise, Television Education Network, the Institute of Public Accountants and the Tax Institute. She has also provided articles on a variety of superannuation issues for the West Australian, Farm Weekly and the Australia Financial Review. Katie is a SMSF Association certified advisor and a Certified Practicing Accountant.
Belinda Aisbett is a director of Super Sphere Pty. Ltd., a specialist self managed superannuation company, where she is responsible for providing audit, consulting and training services in relation to self managed super funds. Belinda established Super Sphere in 2003 to specialise in SMSF auditing and audit related services. This is in addition to providing an SMSF Audit Toolkit to other auditing professionals and undertaking numerous training engagements each year. Belinda is a member of the CAANZ, and holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting). Belinda is also a specialist member of the SMSF Association, co-chairperson of their audit discussion group, and a member of the SMSF Association education committee.
Tracey Norris commenced in public practice over 20 years ago and initially advised small and medium enterprises on taxation and superannuation affairs. This variety of experience allows her to understand the bigger picture when advising clients on superannuation issues and providing commercial outcomes. Having worked with various industries supplying general taxation advice and now specialising in superannuation allows her to provide good strategic outcomes to compliment other advisors. Tracey's demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of superannuation and taxation laws includes; SMSF compliance and audits; advising on restructure of assets to and from superannuation funds, whether the result of life events or business sales and acquisitions; assisting clients with effective retirement planning strategies; maximising investment opportunities using superannuation structures; writing expert reports for legal counsel in court hearings; sitting on the compliance committee of a retail fund; and consulting on and performing audits for Medium / Large APRA funds. Professional Qualifications and Memberships: Bachelor of Commerce (JCU); Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (Superannuation); Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ); CA SMSF Specialist.
